Known issues
Updated 21 July 2026 · Current stable: 1.1.18
This page is the honest list. When a real problem is confirmed, it appears here with its status; when it is fixed, the fix ships through an update and is recorded in the changelog.
Confirmed issues
No confirmed open issues in 1.1.18 at the time of writing. Bugs can still happen in any desktop app — if you hit one, please report it (see below) and it will be listed here while it is investigated.
Current limitations
- Windows only. EtchMind supports 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. No Mac or Linux release has been announced.
- No cloud sync. EtchMind is local-first: your collection is a database and media folder on your disk. Built-in zip backups can mirror to a folder you choose (such as a synced drive), but there is no hosted sync service.
- Stream Deck integration is a public beta. The core app is stable; the Stream Deck plugin is newer and still maturing. Setup guide: etchmind.com/docs/stream-deck.
- Some actions need a network connection. Normal reading and studying work offline; purchase, license activation, update checks, and web/video imports use the network when needed.
Reporting a problem
Post in the Discord or email support@etchmind.com. Please include:
- your Windows version;
- your EtchMind version (and the version you upgraded from, if relevant);
- what you were doing when it happened;
- the exact message you saw, if there was one.
Please do not post private collection content publicly. Any credible report involving data loss is investigated before all other work.
Protecting your collection
Keep backups of important collections: Settings → Backups makes one-click zip backups, and full export is always available — including on an expired trial.
